Bread pudding from Belgium is a dense baked pudding which can be served as a tea bread with your cup of coffee/tee.
FLEMISH BREAD PUDDING
METHOD:
Flavour options:
- 300gr white bread (stale bread) 3days old
- 300ml milk
- 125gr sugar
- 1/4 tsp. salt
- 5ml vanilla essence
- 4 eggs
- 1 tbsp. flour
- 50gr raisins
METHOD:
- Grease your dish (20x20)
- Soak your bread $ sugar with milk
- Add the rest of the ingredients & mix.
- Put some dollops of butter on top of your bread mixture.
- Bake for 45min. @ 180°C
Flavour options:
- Coffee: substitute 60ml of the milk with strong coffee.
- Brandy: Pour ¼ cup of brandy over baked pudding once removed from your oven.
- Apricot: 100ml blotted on top of pudding
- Coke flavour: substitute 200ml of milk for coke & omit raisins
- Caramel: substitute white sugar for treacle sugar
- Coke: substitute ½ off the milk with coke.
